About The Position

UW MEDICINE ENTERPRISE REVENUE CYCLE (ERC) has an outstanding opportunity for an HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNICIAN 2. This position is 100% FTE and 100% ONSITE at the SANDPOINT LOCATION. The Health Information Technician 2 is responsible for implementing the mission and goals of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle (ERC), and incorporating information governance principles. The role involves day-to-day office operations activities including receiving, sorting, and preparing incoming and outgoing ERC mail, as well as utilizing RightFax for faxes, printing patient letters, billing records, and medical records in Epic, and shared drive. The technician will also prepare and print patient medical records and billing records for Release of Information and Patient Financial Services for mailing, and track and update release status in Epic comments for printing and mailing patient medical records and billing records.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent including two years’ experience with medical records, or, equivalent education and experience
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Epic or Cerner applications
Knowledge of MS Office
Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities
