Base salary starts at $27.87/hr.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of health information management experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of HIPAA.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
  • Must have a working knowledge of CMS Standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
  • Possess exceptional problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
  • Ability to learn new computer software programs.
  • Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
  • Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies staff needs and develops staff according to those needs in consultation with the Director of Health Information Management.
  • Reviews the records for missing reports or inadequate documentation and makes sure the records meet Joint Commission Standards and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
  • Ensures efficient delivery of medical record services.
  • Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training of HIM staff.
  • Manages employee schedules and timecards using Kronos.
  • Monitors quality and productivity.
  • Processes birth certificates and paternity papers within 10 days of birth as required by the State of Wyoming.
  • Other duties as assigned.
