About The Position

CommQuest seeks a full-time Health Information Specialist to work at our Health Information Department located in Downtown Canton, OH. The Health Information Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the operations of the Health Information Department by ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of both electronic and paper client records. This position exists to uphold confidentiality standards, assist in documentation quality control, and facilitate record accessibility for audits, staff, and regulatory compliance. Its primary purpose is to maintain the integrity and efficiency of medical recordkeeping processes within the organization. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in medical records or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or social services setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • File scanned documents accurately into electronic health records (EHR).
  • Assist with closing, archiving, and shredding client records in compliance with agency procedures.
  • Route and respond to information requests appropriately and securely.
  • Assist in preparation and review of records for audits, file reviews, and site surveys.
  • Support a trauma-informed care environment through collaboration and professionalism.
  • Other duties as assigned
