About The Position
The Lutheran Home Skilled Nursing Community is hiring a Health Information Specialist to join their Skilled Nursing team. Requirements
- Long-term care experience required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Experience managing medical records and health information systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain resident medical records and health information systems
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of health information
- Support compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support quality resident care
- Assist with audits, record requests, and regulatory documentation requirements
- Promote the mission, values, and person-centered care philosophy of Lutheran Life Communities
