The Health Information Manager will lead day-to-day HIM operations across multiple locations: overseeing legal medical records record completion release of information documentation compliance medical record integrity workflow optimization regulatory compliance. This individual will also manage a large HIM team, drive process improvement initiatives, partner with IT on EHR optimization, and serve as the primary HIM liaison across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information or related field
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as a Supervisor, Manager, or Director
- Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of HIM operations
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, and regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of Release of Information (ROI) and legal medical records
- Strong knowledge of Documentation compliance
- Strong knowledge of EHR implementation/optimization
- Strong knowledge of Medical record integrity
- Strong knowledge of Budgeting, staffing, productivity, and operational management
- General knowledge of coding
