Requirements

Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or other related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or other related field.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or other related field is preferred.
RHIT or RHIA certification is preferred.
Previous leadership/supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements departmental goals, plan, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance.
Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
