About The Position

Vibra Healthcare is seeking a Health Information Management Clerk/Technician to join their team at Vibra Hospital of SE Michigan - Taylor Campus. This is a 40-bed Critical Care Hospital in Taylor, MI, providing acute care services for patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. The hospital specializes in services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation, and ventilator weaning. The role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly environment where staff can get to know patients and their families.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to project a professional image
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Previous medical records clerical experience preferred
  • Experience performing quantitative analysis in a medical records department preferred
  • Current, valid, and active RHIT or RHIA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assembling and analyzing patient medical records
  • Processing health information requests
  • Filing
  • Assisting with release of appropriately documented information requests
  • Performing routine data collection
  • Assisting with chart completion to ensure proper sequence of documents
  • Confirming presence of authorized signatures, required documents, and identification on all forms
  • Assuring timely access to complete records for coding purposes
  • Generating transcription reports
  • Updating deficiencies in company’s electronic or medical record system
  • Providing support to the HIM Manager/Director as needed
