About The Position

At Uptown Community Health Center we improve the health of our community and provide care that respects the dignity of each person, especially those that are underserved. We teach tomorrow's physicians and healthcare professionals to provide excellent medical care with compassion and kindness. Health Informatics (HI) is responsible for workflow analysis and end-user support of the electronic medical records and clinical application(s). They collaborate with the CEO, CMO, Compliance, directors, administrators, and project coordinators to advise and optimize processes and workflows for the entire health center. They will collaborate with the local and system Operational, ITDS, Learning & Development, and Quality teams. The Informatics team also assists in the training of all providers and associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Three (3) years of experience in healthcare
  • Two (2) years of Informatics or EHR support

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Informatics, Business, Computer-related major, or Clinical field preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience in healthcare
  • Experience with Epic application and health record

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical patient documentation assistance to providers and the care team for the health center.
  • Assists with the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)/ Clinical Applications maintenance and optimization in a joint venture with site end-users, directors, managers, project managers, and ITDS analysts and architects.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with clinical and ancillary areas to facilitate an integrated electronic medical record.
  • Documents application and operational policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates workflow and Epic system integration and provide recommendations.
  • Provides communication of any changes in production, overall system upgrades, or enhancements to ensure an effective flow of information throughout the organization.
  • Rounds within the health center to inquire about any issues, seek input for change, and observe workflows.
  • Assesses and identifies risks and issues throughout all aspects of the EMR application.
  • Develops and coordinates the execution of user test plans.
  • Researches and provides analysis for other Clinical Applications, as needed.
  • Supports and promotes Epic as well as other Clinical Applications, as needed.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and protects medical office operations by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
