About The Position
Overview of current developments, issues and challenges in the emerging field of health informatics, with an emphasis on the role it plays in health care transformation initiatives. Foundation of health informatics. How data are acquired, turned into information and translated into knowledge. How healthcare information systems are designed. How different systems such as clinical decision support, electronic health records, and public health systems function. Critical issues related to security, privacy, ethical and legal underpinnings. Overview of information systems used in Canada and in Qatar.
Requirements
- MBA/MHA or Master's degree (PhD preferred) in an area directly related to health informatics and technology management in a healthcare context.
- Recent professional experience in the field of health informatics.
- Sound knowledge of the issues related to health informatics.
- Ability to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada (priority given to Canadians and permanent residents).

- Experience in development or delivery of online course content.
Responsibilities
- Deliver course content online asynchronously.
- Develop or deliver online course content.
- Engage with students on course material related to health informatics, data acquisition, information systems design, clinical decision support, electronic health records, public health systems, security, privacy, and ethical/legal underpinnings.
- Provide an overview of information systems used in Canada and Qatar.
