About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Quality and Performance Management in Health Care (MHA6315B00) during the Winter 2027 semester at the Telfer School of Management. The course provides an overview of approaches and tools for managing, evaluating, and promoting quality in healthcare, emphasizing context and stakeholder engagement. Topics include quality theories and concepts, patient safety, performance management, evidence-based management, and quality improvement strategies. The course will be co-taught by two part-time professors and delivered in a hybrid format.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in an area directly related to the course and health care management; OR a Canadian baccalaureate degree or its international equivalent with substantial managerial or professional training and experience in health care settings (normally = 5 years), provided there is strong evidence of management and leadership responsibilities and career progression.
  • Exceptionally, pending approval by a Program Director, substantial managerial or professional health care training and experience (normally 10 years and more), provided there is strong evidence of health care management and leadership responsibilities and career progression in health care organizations.
  • Competence in second language: Passive.
  • Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in an area directly related to the course and health care management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a director of a quality/patient safety department or health care entity is a definite asset.
