About The Position

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital seeks a Health Info Tech I to retrieve, prepare, and process discharged patient medical records for document imaging. The role includes reconciling records against the discharge census, retrieving records from designated patient care areas, and meeting departmental quality and productivity standards for record preparation and scanning. Other duties may be assigned based on skill level and need.

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is a large hospital offering services including heart care, cancer care, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and cosmetic services. It also operates outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Organization and time-management skills to meet productivity standards.
• Attention to detail for accurate preparation and scanning of patient medical records.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile records against the discharge census and take timely action to retrieve all discharged patient records.
• Retrieve medical records from designated patient care areas.
• Organize, prepare, and process records for document imaging.
• Meet departmental quality and productivity standards for preparing and scanning patient records.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on skill level and need.
