About The Position

Adagio Health is looking to hire a full-time Health Educator for its Langley office in Pittsburgh, PA to serve Allegheny County partners. The Health Educator will support the implementation of programs such as the Teen Outreach Program (TOP), which is a social-emotional learning curriculum for middle and high school youth, and the Healthy Relationships Toolkit (HeaRT), a CDC-developed model to prevent violence in adolescence. The role also involves additional programs related to public health, including substance abuse education. Adagio Health is seeking an energetic individual passionate about healthy eating and active living, with the skills to help individuals and groups of all ages.

Requirements

  • BS degree in public health, education, nutrition or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to develop, provide and evaluate education programming.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable car.
  • Travel is required on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work well in a group.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead an engaging lesson.
  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work with the public, education professionals, teachers, principals, and the low-income population.
  • Ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet the program goals.
  • Willingness to participate in meetings and trainings in order to continually develop skills.
  • Ability to work afterschool/weekend programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Series.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in youth education in a school setting and in public health is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and delivers education in a variety of settings.
  • Ensures curricula is delivered as intended following program guidance and guidelines.
  • Delivers engaging, interactive, and concise lessons.
  • Builds relationships with program partners to enhance program delivery and effectiveness.
  • Maintains regular communication with program partners.
  • Initiates, leads, and provides technical assistance on supporting projects based on partner needs.
  • Delivers indirect channels.
  • Completes all required documentation, data tracking, and data entry by determined deadlines.
  • Provides high-quality customer service and participant recruitment in coordination with other Adagio Health initiatives as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with other educators to share ideas.
  • Works/travels in any offices as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
