The Health Educator - Senior position specializes in stimulating, coordinating, and delivering oral health prevention and promotion activities in the community. This position is responsible for a leadership role in the community related to community development, advocacy, and public relations. Requirements

Graduate from a recognized Dental Therapy program
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Basic Communication skills
Basic Time management skills
Basic Organizational skills
Basic Computer skills
Knowledge in population health promotion and its relationship to health status
Ability to interact in a positive and culturally appropriate manner
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Knowledge of current scientific info/research/best practice in oral health
Knowledge in oral health and overall health relationship
Knowledge in population health promotion approaches and community development
Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
Ability and willingness to work evenings/weekends as required

Nice To Haves

Graduate from a recognized Dental Hygenist program is also acceptable

Responsibilities

Stimulating, coordinating, and delivering oral health prevention and promotion activities in the community.
Taking a leadership role in the community related to community development, advocacy, and public relations.
Diagnosing dental decay/abscesses and identifying oral abnormalities.
Advocating for the delivery of culturally safe, responsive & people-centered healthcare.
