About The Position

The Health Educator - Harm Reduction is a member of the interdisciplinary team and under the general direction of the Primary Care Manager. This position is responsible for the training, implementation, evaluation, and community engagement of harm reduction efforts across Primary Health Care services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline
  • Degree in a Health or Human Services field acceptable to the Employer
  • Bachelor of Addictions Counseling is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Social Work is acceptable
  • Basic - Interpersonal skills
  • Basic - Writing skills
  • Basic - Organizational skills
  • Basic - Verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships/partnerships
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Adhering to professional code of ethics, practice standards.
  • Ability and willingness to apply harm reduction concepts to practice
  • Sensitive and understanding of diverse cultural aspects of population served
  • Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
  • Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
  • Must upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
  • Must bring a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) to the interview; it must be dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search.
