The Center for Health Equity & Community Wellness (CHECW) aims to eliminate health inequities that lead to premature mortality. CHECW works to increase the visibility of socially unjust policies and advocates for redress for impacted NYC communities by addressing social determinants of health, including environmental and commercial factors. The division comprises several bureaus, including the Bureau of Brooklyn Neighborhood Health, which focuses on programming, planning, and research to address racial inequities in Central Brooklyn. The Bureau of Brooklyn Neighborhood Health is seeking a Health Education Associate to manage and expand health education programming for the East Harlem Family Wellness Suite (FWS), located at the Harlem Neighborhood Health Action Center.
