AkidoNew York, NY
$31 - $43Hybrid

About The Position

Akido is building a new program for New York City's independent drivers, the Worker Healthy Living Program (WHLP), in partnership with the Independent Drivers Guild and the Workers Benefit Fund. This program is informed by lifestyle medicine and aims to help drivers live healthier, longer lives through focusing on food, movement, sleep, stress management, and community. The Health Coach will work directly with participants, helping them make realistic changes within the context of their busy and high-stress lives. This role is part of a collaborative care team that includes primary care clinicians, advanced practice clinicians, a dietitian, behavioral health support, and a medical assistant. The Health Coach will support participants through individual and group-based coaching within a six-month program focused on whole-person health. Beyond direct participant support, the role involves shaping program operations, refining workflows, and designing systems to enhance participant engagement. The Health Coach will also utilize Akido's AI-powered platform to reduce administrative burden and strengthen human connection. This is a zero-to-one opportunity with significant ownership in building and growing the program, suitable for someone energized by ambiguity, comfortable with experimentation, and motivated to turn a pilot into a sustainable, community-centered model. The WHLP is designed to prevent and manage chronic conditions and address real-life barriers to health such as stress, isolation, financial strain, and work-related challenges. This role offers an opportunity to reimagine health coaching in primary care from the ground up for a historically underserved population.
