About The Position

The Health Care Technician II serves as a role model and mentor to other HCT I’s throughout the facility and provides quality care to patients on the PICU. This position will deal with the most acute and aggressive patients and will require more extensive training to handle the challenges presented to them within this unit. As an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, the HCT II practices therapeutic principles when providing care to the patients they serve. The objective of the PICU is to provide a safe and structured environment for patients needing a higher level of psychiatric nursing intervention and intervention. A multidisciplinary treatment team targets a broad range of psychiatric illnesses and behavioral challenges with various therapeutic programs and educational groups. Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Requirements

High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention as a condition for continued employment.
Must be listed as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
Must be listed as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (as applicable).
Must have North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification (as applicable).
