About The Position

The Health Care Assistant supports the assigned unit by facilitating communication among patients, staff, physicians, visitors, and ancillary departments. The role directs incoming calls and responds to patient calls, maintains patient charts and unit files, monitors secretarial supply levels, and helps maintain a safe and orderly environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
• Previous clerical experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Previous clerical experience in a medical setting is preferred.
• Previous patient care assistant or unit secretary experience is preferred.
