Health Care Aide (2026-0175)
About The Position
Carewest is seeking passionate Health Care Aides (HCAs) to join their team. The HCA is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors, and reports on client status/condition, including changes in physical and emotional status, ensuring these changes are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure. The HCA maintains professional and ethical standards at all times in keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies. The Rehabilitation and Community Transition Program (RCTP) is a short-stay restorative care program that supports medically stable adults who do not need an acute-care level of service, but may require additional assessment, recuperation, and therapy before returning to the community.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
- Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
- Active and current registration with CLHA required.
Nice To Haves
- Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
- Program-specific training/experience is an asset.
Responsibilities
