Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program is required.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
- Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
- Active and current registration with CLHA required.
Nice To Haves
- Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
- Program-specific training/experience is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Observes, monitors, and reports on client status/condition, including changes in physical and emotional status.
- Ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure.
- Maintains professional and ethical standards at all times in keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies.
- Responsible for other related duties as required.
