About The Position
Mint Health & Drugs is seeking a Health Care Aid/Assistant to join their team in Stony Plain, Alberta. The pharmacy specializes in providing medical supplies to the community, offering compassionate care and expert advice on available medical aids to patients and their families. They work with the Aids to Daily Living program and private customers. This role often requires working in a fast-paced environment, having a variety of tasks, and requires a compassionate personality that enjoys working with patients dealing with Cancer and various surgeries.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home health care: compression sock fittings, assessing suitability for walkers, assisting with selection of assorted medical supplies.
- Excellent customer service and administration skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- High level of professionalism and empathy in handling patient situations.
Nice To Haves
- Kroll and POS experience.
- Compression sock fitting certification, Health Care Aid Certification, or Registered Nurse certification.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for patients and families regarding their home healthcare needs.
- Offer walk-in patients and existing patients assistance with products such as compression socks, mobility aids, hernia belts, and incontinence supplies.
- Handle billing to patients and applicable government bodies, receiving payments, reviewing accounts, and working with patients and their families during stressful situations.
