About The Position

The Health Benefits Representative supports client retention by providing issue resolution and information to existing accounts throughout the life of the account. This independent, customer-facing role solves problems and builds strong relationships with plan sponsors and members.

This is a hybrid office position in Fort Myers or Plantation, Florida. The representative travels to multiple plan sponsor locations across Lee County to conduct open enrollment meetings and new-hire orientations; provide in-person concierge customer service and issue resolution; and participate in employee health fairs, community events, and plan sponsor events.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in the health insurance industry.
• Comfort traveling to assigned worksites within Lee County while following health and safety measures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
• Florida Health, Life and Variable Annuity Insurance License, as required by state law; the license may be obtained within 120 days of hire.
• High school diploma or G.E.D.

• Knowledge and experience in managed care and/or sales, such as product, process, and systems knowledge; account management; healthcare RFPs; and administrative operations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Presentation skills and the ability to adapt communication delivery to the audience.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
• Associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Handle member inquiries about customer service issues, benefits, and policy administration.
• Respond to customer requests for claim resolution, plan design changes, and benefit questions or clarifications.
• Travel to assigned plan sponsor locations across Lee County to conduct open enrollment meetings and new-hire orientations.
• Provide in-person concierge customer service and issue resolution at plan sponsor locations.
• Participate in employee health fairs, community events, and plan sponsor events.
• Work independently to solve problems and resolve issues for existing business.
• Build strong relationships with plan sponsors and members to support client retention.
