About The Position

Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is seeking a part-time Health & Safety Instructor (Mobile Equipment Trainer) to deliver mobile equipment safety training. This role involves approximately 8-24 hours per week, primarily delivering training on weekends at their Mississauga Warehouse Training Centre, with potential for weekday sessions. The position may also include delivering CPO-approved Working at Heights training and other courses, depending on the candidate's experience and availability. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable safety professional with experience operating and training on forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or other MEWP equipment, and is passionate about worker safety.

Requirements

3+ years experience delivering training (forklift and MEWP preferred, others may be considered an asset)
Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and any other mobile equipment operating experience
Background in construction management and/or material handling industry
Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
Valid Ontario’s Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
Able to legally work in Canada

Nice To Haves

Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred

Responsibilities

Delivering engaging and informative mobile equipment training (scissor lift and/or forklift) to workers and job seekers
Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
Potentially delivering other courses, including Working at Heights training
Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops
