The HSE Advisor position is responsible for supporting the management and maintenance of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems. Key responsibilities include assessing project site HSE risks, developing plans to mitigate or eliminate risks, participating in project site safety activities, maintaining the HSE training program, coordinating and leading audits and inspections, tracking corrective actions and incident data, reviewing critical safety documentation, and performing other related duties as required. A successful HSE Advisor is highly organized, adaptable, and detail oriented. The HSE Advisor reports directly to the HSE Manager and will collaborate closely with various managers, project managers, and other Milestone team members to ensure alignment and compliance with HSE standards. Serve as a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) leader, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned programs and initiatives. Utilize safety management tools to monitor working hours, incidents, near misses, and other key data for reporting purposes. Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and statistical reports, and escalate issues to management when necessary. Demonstrate urgency and a strong commitment to achieving objectives. Maintain exceptional attention to detail, stay highly organized, and adapt effectively to shifting priorities and rapid change. Analyze events, issues, and problems to develop timely, optimal solutions while promoting a positive health and safety culture across the organization. Communicate with clarity and impact, fostering an environment of openness and honesty. Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation, and work seamlessly within a high-performing team. Possess in-depth knowledge of provincial health and safety legislation, standards, and industry best practices, along with a demonstrated passion for safety leadership and accountability to the highest standards.
