About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside industry-leading consultants in the Health & Benefits (H&B) sector, contributing to transforming tomorrows. Interns will gain immediate exposure to real client assignments, utilizing their analytical and creative skills to analyze data, draw conclusions, and present findings. The program includes twice-weekly learning and networking sessions with colleagues and leaders across WTW businesses. Interns will gain exposure to various functions within H&B, including Client Service Teams (CST) who manage client engagements for health and benefits programs, and Financial, Actuarial, and Analytics (FAA) teams who lead quantitative and risk conversations with clients, providing strategic insights and financial solutions.

Requirements

  • Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human capital/human resource management, health economics, risk management & insurance, business management, marketing and finance, actuarial science, advanced mathematics, or any other major with significant quantitative work.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Prior internship or other work experience demonstrating increasing levels of complex work, autonomy, and client service skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, but also cooperatively in a close team environment.
  • Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed client standards.
  • Resourceful and creative; inquisitive.
  • Sense of accountability; owning one’s work and taking pride in it.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to work legally in the United States indefinitely and without Visa sponsorship.
  • Candidates must meet the graduation date requirements: graduating with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree between December 2027 through June 2028.

Nice To Haves

  • For Actuarial students: Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of new client strategies and solutions.
  • Analyze and compare vendor products, services, and contracts.
  • Perform financial analyses, including developing pricing, creating employee contribution strategies, and modeling plan design alternatives.
  • Gain specialized knowledge in areas such as pharmacy, life and disability insurance, health equity and wellbeing, vendor placement, actuarial/analytics, and more.
  • Evaluate responses to surveys and vendor proposals.
