The Head Start Lead Teacher will facilitate the social, emotional, mental, and physical development of children. This role involves being a team member in developing learning centers and lesson plans to focus on children’s individual needs. The teacher will organize the classroom environment and plan hands-on activities to promote language, social/emotional, fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, and self-help development. They will utilize equipment and materials to carry out program objectives including art, literature, music, self-awareness, motor, and science. The position requires relating to high-risk families and their children, developing communication skills for quality services to parents and staff, and fostering professional relationships with families to encourage program participation.
