About The Position

This position is for a Head Start Lead Teacher responsible for facilitating the social, emotional, mental, and physical development of children. The role involves being a team member in developing learning centers and lesson plans tailored to children's individual needs. The teacher will organize the classroom environment and plan hands-on activities to promote various developmental areas, including language, social/emotional, fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, and self-help. Utilization of equipment and materials to achieve program objectives in art, literature, music, self-awareness, motor skills, and science is key. The position also requires relating to high-risk families and their children, developing communication skills for effective parent and staff interaction, and fostering professional relationships with families to encourage program participation.

Requirements

  • At least an associate degree in Early Childhood.
  • Experience working in an early childhood classroom.
  • Pre-employment physical and TB skin test is required.
  • Background Check required including fingerprint.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood.
  • Head Start specific experience.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish candidate-able to read and write in both languages.
