About The Position

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team and support school readiness and lifelong learning for young children and their families. This position plays a critical role in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, while also strengthening the connection between school and home through regular family engagement. As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality early learning experiences aligned with curriculum standards, promoting positive child development across physical, intellectual, emotional, and social domains. You will conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences to foster strong family partnerships, support individualized learning goals, and emphasize the home as a vital part of the child’s educational journey.

Requirements

  • AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education
  • AA or BA in a related field with at least four (3-credit) courses in Early Childhood
  • Applicants who do not possess a degree in early childhood or related field must agree to take additional classes to meet Head Start Teacher Qualification Requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans
  • Promote health and safety practices
  • Support child social-emotional growth using Conscious Discipline
  • Provide engaging learning opportunities that meet individual developmental needs, including those of Dual Language Learners
  • Build goal-oriented relationships with families
  • Support parent participation in the classroom
  • Encourage family literacy and school involvement
  • Conduct scheduled home visits and conferences to share developmental progress, collaborate on goals, and offer educational activities and community resources that support learning at home
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement through training, reflection, and active participation in meetings and agency initiatives
  • Maintain accurate documentation of child development, family interactions, attendance, and meal counts using agency systems and internal databases
  • Foster respectful, timely, and effective communication with families, coworkers, and supervisors to ensure a supportive and collaborative learning environment
