About The Position

To assist the lead teacher and share responsibilities to ensure a well-managed center. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of the education curriculum, providing a safe and healthy learning environment, maintaining open communication, engaging and supporting children and families, and promoting ethical conduct. The position requires ongoing staff development and offers opportunities for decision-making related to children and families, including assuming classroom supervision during the teacher's absence.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree
Willing to certify CPR
Willing to certify First Aid
Willing to certify Child Development Associates Credential (CDA)
Must pass TB Skin Test prior to starting position
Must pass Kansas Bureau of Investigation background check prior to starting position
Must pass Physical Exam prior to starting position
Good communication skills including oral, written, and listening
Interpersonal skills working with children, volunteers, families, and community members
Ability to make good decisions
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Willingness to work as a team player
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation

Responsibilities

Assists in developing and implementing the current education curriculum, including planning individual child goals and activities, participating in child assessment, organizing the environment, supporting children's learning, and implementing lesson plans and activities to meet individual goals and IEP goals.
Provides a safe and healthy learning environment by following staffing patterns for safety, performing cleaning and organizing duties, assisting with positive guidance, and promoting preventative wellness.
Maintains an open communication system by participating in classroom meetings and practicing open communication with staff, families, and volunteers.
Engages and supports children and families to enhance life skills by establishing rapport, attending and assisting with parent activities, and modeling skills for healthy environments.
Promotes and respects the Code of Ethical Conduct, maintaining a professional manner, ensuring confidentiality, and adhering to mandatory reporting policies.
Completes all other duties as assigned.
