About The Position

The Teacher Assistant (Early Head Start) supports the Lead Teacher to keep an Infant/Toddler classroom safe, organized, and aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and NYS OCFS early learning standards. You help implement HighScope and enhancements (Pyramid Model, I Am Moving I Am Learning, Outdoor Instruction), complete screenings and documentation in GoEngage, and enter child observations in COR.

Requirements

CDA (Infant/Toddler) or obtain within 15 months.
2+ years of experience working with infants/toddlers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with parent engagement.
Teamwork skills.
Understanding of confidentiality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with online assessment tools.
Familiarity with Teams/Zoom.
Knowledge of the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
Valid NYS driver’s license.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, squat, and kneel.
Ability to stay regulated during stressful moments.
