About The Position

The Head Start Teacher Assistant works with young children and is assigned by the campus administrator. The role requires experience working with children or youth, good communication skills with students and adults, and the physical strength and stamina to meet the demands of working with energetic small children. Extracurricular duties, including bus or hall duties, may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate upon hire.
• Experience working with children or youth, which may include babysitting, volunteer work, church group activities, caring for siblings or minors, or educational preparation programs.
• Good communication skills with both students and adults.
• Physical strength and stamina to meet the demands of working with energetic small children.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or 48 hours of college preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with young children.
• Perform extracurricular duties, such as bus or hall duties, as assigned.
• Carry out duties as assigned by the campus administrator.
