Head Start is seeking Early Childhood Education Teachers for both 4K and non-4K positions. This role is within the UW Oshkosh Head Start program, a federally funded preschool program designed for low-income families. Teachers will collaborate to foster school readiness in children and support comprehensive services for children and families. Classroom sizes are typically 15-16 children. The school year runs from September to May/early June, with additional work hours in August. The program utilizes the High/Scope curriculum and incorporates Pyramid Model and Conscious Discipline programs to enhance social-emotional development. Head Start employees have the opportunity to impact the lives of 384 children and their families annually across seven centers in five different cities within Winnebago, Calumet, Outagamie, and Shawano Counties. Staff wellness is a priority, supported by individual/group reflective practice, Practice Based Coaching, and other wellness initiatives.
