About The Position

The Head Pickleball Professional is responsible for growing all aspects of Reynolds Lake Oconee’s pickleball operations, including participation in lessons, clinics, and leagues. The role develops and delivers a premier program of daily and weekly activities, progressive instruction, events, tournaments, club-wide promotion, and facility presentation. The professional instructs players of all ages and skill levels, assesses their abilities and provides accurate ratings, and creates engaging opportunities for the membership. The position also oversees program records, marketing and promotion, support of the Prop Shop and its staff, court appearance and playing conditions, and the development of the program and its merchandise offerings. Ongoing professional development and tournament participation are expected.

Requirements

Exceptionally strong pickleball playing and teaching ability.
Ability to compete at a top-tier level.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and positively impact others.
Experience communicating effective strategies for pickleball programming and operations.
Thorough knowledge of tournaments, leagues, and revenue-generating programs.
Customer service, leadership, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Professional Certification through PPR is encouraged.
A minimum of two years of professional training is preferred.

Responsibilities

Grow pickleball participation in lessons, clinics, and leagues.
Develop and implement daily and weekly programs, progressive lessons, events, tournaments, club-wide promotions, and event promotions.
Create an engaging program of events for players of all skill levels.
Teach pickleball to players of all ages and skill levels using progressive, educational instruction.
Assess players’ strengths and weaknesses and provide accurate ratings.
Plan and execute tournaments and events with a fun and competitive approach.
Maintain accurate records of pickleball operations and activities.
Assist with and work in the Prop Shop as needed, supporting and overseeing its staff.
Market and promote all pickleball programs.
Maintain and develop professional instructional ability through workshops, conditioning, skills practice, and tournament competition.
Maintain the appearance and playing surface of the courts, including sweeping, blowing, and pressure washing as needed.
Engage members and build excitement for new and existing programs.
Take ownership of the pickleball program, including its future growth and merchandise offerings.
