About The Position

The Head Orientation Leader (HOL) role involves assisting the director with summer projects and the training of Orientation Leaders (OLs). HOLs are responsible for welcoming new students to Chatham during orientation, creating an inclusive environment, and helping new students connect with peers, experience events, and acclimate to campus life. They will also lead a group of 15-20 first-year students throughout the orientation period.

Requirements

  • Current student employee
  • Must notify other manager(s) if working multiple jobs on campus
  • Students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year.
  • Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the director with summer projects and training of OLs.
  • Welcome new students to Chatham during orientation.
  • Create an inclusive environment for all students.
  • Assist new students with meeting other students, experiencing events, and becoming acclimated to campus.
  • Lead a group of 15-20 first-year students throughout Orientation.

Benefits

  • $11 per hour for the summer
  • $500 applied to student account for OL training and Orientation Week
  • Additional $200 for fall semester requirements
