About The Position

The Director of Telco and Cloud Partner Technical Marketing is responsible for bridging SUSE's engineering innovation with the commercial strategies of key global partners. The role involves leading a team of senior technical partner marketers to develop a compelling "Better Together" technical narrative. This position requires managing executive-level technical relationships and collaborating with Cloud and Telco architects to create pre-validated blueprints, lighthouse solutions, and "Technical Sales Plays" aimed at capturing significant marketplace opportunities.

Requirements

  • 12+ Years in Technical Marketing or Solutions Architecture, specifically within the Cloud (SaaS/IaaS) or Telecommunications sectors.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes, Linux, and the "Infrastructure as Code" movement.
  • Proven experience managing senior technical relationships at Fortune 500 partners.
  • Familiarity with the commercial and technical mechanics of AWS Marketplace, Oracle Marketplace, Azure Foundry, or Google Cloud Marketplace.
  • Skilled at assembling complementary teams and building succession plans, leading through empowerment.
  • Ability to build mutually beneficial relationships across complex, global partner organizations and understand partner needs.
  • Capacity to anticipate future Cloud and Telco trends (12-18 months ahead) and maintain technical marketing relevance.
  • Ability to navigate high-stakes, fast-changing hyperscaler alliance environments without losing momentum or team morale.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical strategy to capture the ~$1.1B CSP marketplace opportunity, ensuring SUSE solutions are optimized and readily available on major public cloud platforms.
  • Manage executive-level technical relationships with hyperscalers (AWS, Oracle, Google, Microsoft) and their engineering teams to establish SUSE Rancher and SLES as the preferred foundational Linux & Kubernetes solutions.
  • Establish SUSE as the trusted common foundation for modern telco infrastructure and partner with global Telcos to architect "Sovereign Telco" solutions compliant with regulations like NIS2.
  • Lead and develop a global team of Partner Marketing Managers, ensuring their technical credibility and professional growth.
  • Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing technical accuracy, customer empathy, and speed-to-market.
  • Oversee the creation of technical blueprints and reference architectures validating SUSE's performance on partner hardware and cloud instances.
  • Drive "Partner Enablement" programs to train thousands of partner SEs on positioning SUSE within their specific cloud or telco environments.
