VP Head of Studio

Valtech
•$176,000 - $220,000

About The Position

Valtech is seeking a visionary, hands-on Head of Studio to lead its Traditional Studio, GenAI Studio, and Marketing Production functions. Reporting to the Global CCO, this senior leadership role combines studio leadership, executive creative and production oversight, post-production expertise, and GenAI innovation. The role sets creative and technical standards, develops hybrid traditional and AI-powered workflows, shapes pricing and commercial models, and works with senior client stakeholders and platform partners to deliver content at scale. The Head of Studio owns performance across the three studio functions and manages the Motion/Editorial Leads, GenAI Lead, and Associate Director of Studio. The role oversees live-action production, motion graphics, content production, post-production, and marketing productions; advances the studio’s GenAI capabilities and future-of-content agenda; and establishes the commercial approach for studio services. It also supports talent planning, pitches, account growth, and partnerships with Google and Microsoft platform teams. This is a full-time position based in the US. Remote and hybrid work options are available, depending on the country. The offered salary range is USD 176,000–220,000 annually, depending on experience and location.

Requirements

  • Advanced or fluent English.
  • 15+ years of experience in TVC/commercial production spanning creative direction, directing, and post-production.
  • A demonstrable portfolio across the studio’s key craft categories: creative/concept, directing, post/VFX/motion/color, and GenAI-driven content; the posting describes this as an “M-shaped” talent profile rather than single-discipline depth.
  • Background in VFX compositing, color, and technical filmmaking.
  • Track record leading multiple production functions or teams, not only individual delivery.
  • Proven expertise in GenAI and multi-model pipelines, including fidelity and consistency control.
  • Experience introducing new workflows or methodologies to production teams, including change management.
  • Comfort presenting to C-suite and CMO audiences.
  • Experience qualifying and scoping deals as a subject-matter expert in a sales-support capacity.
  • Coding or scripting experience applied to production tooling.
  • Experience with resource and utilization planning and talent-network management across billable and internal work.
  • Experience developing pricing and commercial models for production services.

Responsibilities

  • Own output and performance accountability for the Traditional Studio, GenAI Studio, and Marketing Production functions.
  • Manage Motion/Editorial Leads, the GenAI Lead, and the Associate Director of Studio, and set creative and technical standards across the studios.
  • Report studio performance, capacity, and roadmap to the Global CCO.
  • Own execution of live-action shoots and oversee motion graphics, configurators, website motion, social, and at-scale content production.
  • Partner with account-aligned Creative Directors to shape ideas from briefs, bringing TVC production expertise to the collaboration.
  • Direct video productions from concept through final cut.
  • Provide final creative and technical oversight for post-production, including VFX, compositing, color, and technical filmmaking.
  • Build and maintain custom code-based tooling for scaled content production and complex VFX pipelines.
  • Work with talent agencies, production studios, and freelancers to assemble teams for shoots.
  • Lead the GenAI Lead and the GenAI Studio offering, including architecting multi-model chains for high-fidelity, production-grade, art-directable imagery grounded in traditional production creative decision-making.
  • Advance the future-of-content agenda by developing hybrid workflows that combine traditional production and GenAI output, and help the broader team adopt new methods as GenAI capabilities mature.
  • Provide creative oversight for brand films and case-study films, shaping narrative and visual flow.
  • Direct the Associate Director of Studio on production logistics, including scope, schedule, budget, vendor management, and delivery.
  • Serve as Executive Producer and partner with the Associate Director of Studio on pricing models and commercial structures.
  • Own how studio services are packaged and priced across client and internal engagements.
  • Partner with Americas Operations to optimize talent utilization across client-billable and funded internal work.
  • Support contractor and full-time hiring and vetting across studio functions.
  • Present GenAI and content capabilities in pitches to CMOs and other senior client stakeholders.
  • Support account-growth conversations as a content subject-matter expert and help qualify content deals in a sales-support capacity.
  • Partner with Google and Microsoft platform teams on custom platforms that drive consumption through the content supply chain.
