About The Position

Orbital Copilot is an AI assistant designed for commercial real estate law, aiming to make transactions smarter, faster, and friction-free. The company has raised $60m in Series B funding to support its UK/US expansion and is trusted by leading firms. Orbital is looking for individuals who are passionate about reimagining real estate transactions, working collaboratively, and making a significant impact. The Legal Solutions Architects (LSAs) are central to delivering value to customers, partnering with them to integrate Orbital into their transaction workflows. This role involves leading the LSA function, focusing on operational aspects like 1:1s, performance, career development, capacity planning, and AE enablement, while partnering with the Head Legal Solutions Architect who focuses on deep legal substance and strategic enterprise work.

Requirements

  • Experience scaling a small specialist function (solutions consulting, sales engineering, pre-sales, professional services, or adjacent).
  • Experience with complex products (data, dev tools, cybersecurity, legal tech) where thoughtful selling is required.
  • Ability to build infrastructure where it doesn't exist.
  • Pride in making people around you more effective.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ).
  • Experience managing accomplished, opinionated individuals with strong views.
  • Ability to hold your own in conversations with sharp people.
  • Ability to learn the legal domain quickly.
  • Credibility to hold technical conversations with senior people internally and externally.
  • Not necessarily a lawyer, but smart enough to learn the domain.
  • Experience managing a team that has not always been managed well.
  • Experience in a role that is not a step-up for a first-time manager.
  • Experience in a role that requires writing playbooks, not just refining them.

Responsibilities

  • Take over day-to-day leadership of the Legal Solutions Architect (LSA) function.
  • Manage 1:1s, performance, and career development for the LSA team.
  • Oversee capacity planning for the LSA function.
  • Enable Account Executives (AEs) in their sales efforts.
  • Establish and maintain the rhythms that hold a scaling function together.
  • Build infrastructure for the LSA function, including career paths, playbooks, and onboarding flows.
  • Partner closely with the Head Legal Solutions Architect on legal substance and strategic enterprise work.
  • Ensure the LSA team has the resources and support needed to be effective.
  • Think deliberately about how AI changes the practice of management and apply it as a lever.
