About The Position

Owner is building the self-driving, AI-powered platform for profitable growth for small businesses. A crucial element of this growth engine is attracting new consumer demand for our restaurant customers through Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). Without our help, third-party marketplaces siphon consumer traffic away from independent restaurants. Your job is to put power back in the hands of small business owners by ensuring that thousands of local restaurants rank first for all their most important keywords. We’re looking for a leader for our team of local SEO/AEO experts who configure Owner’s automated systems to deliver optimal results for each customer. While your primary responsibility will be to set the policies and operating mechanisms to maximize results within the constraints of our existing software capabilities, you’ll also play a critical role in partnering with our Product and Engineering teams on how to evolve those software systems to unlock new opportunities for improved performance. This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in driving organic traffic acquisition, with a preference for experience in local SEO
  • 3+ years of experiencing managing SEO experts or support/success teams for SMB customers
  • Track record of results: you have a demonstrated history of using SEO expertise to drive measurable improvements in traffic acquisition
  • Customer-oriented mindset: you dig deep to understand your customers’ problems and how to best help them find success
  • Clear written and verbal communication: you’re an force for clarity and alignment across levels and functions
  • Strong data fluency: you define metrics to effectively understand your team’s performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Demonstrated team leadership: you know how to attract and retain top performers, and you consistently elevate team’s performance through coaching, QA calibration, and feedback loops

Responsibilities

  • Define hypotheses on how to best drive traffic growth across Owner’s ~10k restaurant locations, drawing on the latest SEO/AEO industry knowledge, algorithm changes, and impact trends
  • Systematize decision-making on determining the best SEO strategy for each Owner customer during the launch process
  • Build systems and processes for effectively handling inbound customer questions and concerns about their SEO/AEO strategy and performance
  • Build systems and processes for proactively identifying locations that are underperforming on traffic acquisition and making changes to improve performance
  • Hire, manage, and develop a small team of experts on local SEO/AEO
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the EPD team, partnering with Product and Engineering on determining how to evolve the capabilities of our automated systems for SEO/AEO
