About The Position

The Head of Project Management leads the MAHLE Powertrain and Charging NA project management team and is accountable for the successful execution of product development projects. The role ensures projects meet agreed targets for quality, cost, timing, and launch readiness, while overseeing budgets, resources, and escalations. This position drives continuous improvement of project management standards, supports acquisition and business initiatives, and drives the adherence to the MAHLE Product Development Process (PDP), while role-modeling MAHLE’s Achievers Culture. Create and maintains a network for information and communication flow between the customer & MAHLE both globally and regionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; Engineering, Business or any other combined with the experience
  • PMP Certification
  • Understanding of project management as is typical in the automotive industry
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of job experience in a related technical field
  • Understanding of cost, quality and timing, related to Launching Projects and Products.
  • Experience leading a team successfully from Acquisition all the way to Production.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze resources, budgets, deviations in alignment with the Top Management.
  • Take full responsibility for all project management duties for the assigned customer accounts. This includes interface with several individuals at customer locations and various MAHLE worldwide facilities.
  • Manage all project timing activities, communicate any milestones that might be at risk and develop and implement a “get well” plan to the customer and internally.
  • Act as a focal point for all commercial discussions/negotiations for the assigned customer accounts.
  • Report on performance achievement to directors and identifies areas of opportunity and risk.
  • Drive and Support a global knowledge transfer about “best practice” available for all Project Managers globally dealing the same product group in collaboration with the Head of the respective Technology / Product Group and Head of Sales.
  • Perform competitive landscape analysis both through market intelligence and competitor or customer requests (freedom to operate, patentability of new ideas, impact to new business and strategy).
  • Budget, resource and personnel planning.
  • Ensuring proactive acquisition approach to achieve the regional targets.
  • Shape and improve project management know-how, tools, processes and standards.
