About The Position

Allen Control Systems (ACS) is seeking a Head of People Operations to architect and scale the operational infrastructure supporting the company's growth. This role is responsible for owning systems, compliance frameworks, workforce analytics, compensation operations, benefits operations, and immigration programs to enable hiring velocity and organizational scale. It is a builder role focused on leading major systems implementations and establishing durable People infrastructure across HRIS, multi-state compliance, export-control-adjacent requirements, and cross-system integrations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of combined experience in People Operations or HR Operations roles.
  • Hands-on ownership of HRIS implementation or major migration using Workday, Rippling, or equivalent.
  • Track record leading cross-functional HR infrastructure projects.
  • Experience scaling companies through growth in the 200–600 employee range.
  • Strong compensation cycle operational experience (bands, promotions, equity).
  • Immigration/mobility program experience and multi-state compliance expertise.
  • Workforce analytics and reporting ownership.
  • Bias toward execution over consensus-building, and comfort operating without mature frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HRIS migration strategy and ongoing optimization, including roadmap, architecture decisions, workflow automation, and integrations with ATS, equity platforms, and finance.
  • Build hypergrowth infrastructure by standardizing onboarding, operationalizing promotion and leveling workflows, implementing employee lifecycle SOPs, and deploying manager self-service tools.
  • Partner with Legal on export-control compliance and multi-state employment law, oversee visa and immigration programs, and maintain policy infrastructure and audit-ready documentation.
  • Implement compensation band governance and merit/promotion cycle execution, support equity administration, and manage benefits vendor relationships, open enrollment, and compliance.
  • Build dashboards for hiring velocity, attrition, retention, and org design visibility; support workforce forecasting; establish reporting standards and maintain HR data integrity.
