About The Position

The "Un-Sales" Role for the Master Connector Business Development Manager | 100% Remote | INC 5000 Winner. Most Business Development roles are just "Sales" in a cheaper suit. This isn't one of them. We don’t do cold calls, we don’t use scripts, and we don’t value "activity" over impact. At How To Manage A Small Law Firm (HTM), we believe growth is a byproduct of trust. We’re looking for a sophisticated relationship-builder who understands that one high-value partnership is worth more than a thousand cold emails. The Mission: We help solo and small law firm owners transform from overworked practitioners into profitable CEOs. As our Business Development Manager, you are the face of that transformation in the legal ecosystem. You aren’t "selling" coaching; you are building the bridges that lead firm owners to freedom. Why This Role is Different: Relationship-First: You are a "Center of Influence" architect. Your job is to build a web of strategic partnerships that compound in value over time. High Autonomy: We don't micromanage. You are the CEO of your territory and your network. Impact over Activity: We don’t care how many "touches" you made today. We care about the quality of the doors you’ve opened. Remote-First, Community-Driven: Work from anywhere (in our approved states), but stay connected through high-energy live events and a national team.

Requirements

  • 6 + years of high-level BD, partnership, or recruiting experience.
  • Energized by travel, networking events, and "working the room."
  • Find "scripts" insulting and "structure" helpful only when it serves the relationship.
  • Can navigate the legal industry with poise, intelligence, and professional "swagger."
  • Must reside in: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, or WA.
  • Track record of building bridges.

  • Build a web of strategic partnerships that compound in value over time.
  • Act as the face of the company's transformation mission in the legal ecosystem.
  • Build bridges that lead firm owners to freedom.
  • Travel for conferences and partner meetings.
  • Build a "moat" of referral partners.
  • Become the person legal organizations call when they want to add value to their members.
  • Be the engine behind HTM’s national presence.
