Head of Organic Growth

Botpress Technologies Inc.Montreal, QC

About The Position

The rules of organic growth are being rewritten in real time. Google's search landscape has been upended by AI Overviews. LLMs are becoming a primary discovery channel. GEO — Generative Engine Optimization — is emerging as a discipline alongside traditional SEO. No one has all the answers yet, and that's exactly why this role exists. Botpress is hiring a Head of Organic Growth to own our entire organic footprint: SEO, GEO, content, YouTube and video, LinkedIn, Reddit, and every channel where we can earn attention without paying for it. Reporting directly to the VP Marketing & Growth, you will set the vision and build the machine — human and AI — that keeps Botpress visible, credible, and dominant as search itself evolves. We already have meaningful organic traffic from both traditional search and LLM-driven discovery. The challenge now is to maintain it, scale it intelligently, and ensure that when someone asks an AI about building agents, Botpress is the answer. You will be the person accountable for that outcome. We're not looking for someone who has this all figured out — the landscape is too new for that. We're looking for someone who is relentlessly curious, obsessively experimental, and hungry to learn faster than the space moves. A visionary who can build a team, jump in and do the work, and deliver compounding results in one of the most important and unsettled corners of digital marketing today.

Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of experience in SEO, content marketing, or organic growth — with a track record of scaling organic traffic and influence at a meaningful scale
  • Deep expertise in technical SEO, content strategy, and link/authority building — you know what has worked and you're actively evolving your thinking on what comes next
  • A genuine intellectual curiosity about AI's impact on search — you've been reading, experimenting, and forming opinions on GEO and LLM-driven discovery
  • Experience leading content teams, including setting editorial direction, managing production pipelines, and coaching writers and creators
  • Strong analytical skills — you use data to make decisions, track impact, and kill underperforming bets without sentiment
  • Hands-on with AI tools for content production and workflow optimization — you actively use them and push your team to use them well
  • Excellent communicator — you can articulate a strategic vision clearly and rally a team and leadership behind it

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or the AI/ML space
  • Track record building a YouTube or video presence from the ground up or scaling one significantly
  • Familiarity with community-led growth, Reddit strategy, or building brand presence in technical communities
  • Experience with tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, Clearscope, Surfer, or equivalent — and an opinion on where they fall short
  • Exposure to programmatic SEO or AI-assisted content at scale
  • You are a visionary who stays humble — you know this landscape is changing fast and you're energized by that, not threatened by it
  • You are relentlessly curious: you read voraciously, run experiments constantly, and treat every data point as a clue
  • You are a builder — you want to create something durable, not just hit a short-term traffic spike
  • You move fast, communicate clearly, and hold yourself and your team to a high standard of craft and output
  • You believe AI is a multiplier for great humans, not a replacement — and you run your team that way

Responsibilities

  • Own the organic strategy across all channels
  • Define and own Botpress's organic growth strategy — the full picture of how we win visibility, authority, and traffic without paid media
  • Cover the full channel mix: SEO, GEO, long-form content, YouTube and video, LinkedIn, Reddit, community, and emerging platforms
  • Set the vision for where we invest, where we pull back, and how we sequence bets as the landscape shifts
  • Be the internal authority on how search — both traditional and AI-powered — is evolving, and translate that into clear priorities for the team
  • Navigate the new SEO and GEO reality
  • Own our presence in traditional search while aggressively developing our strategy for AI-native discovery (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and beyond)
  • Develop a GEO playbook for Botpress: how do we ensure LLMs cite, reference, and recommend us across the conversations that matter to our buyers?
  • Monitor algorithm and model changes with rigor — not just tracking them, but forming hypotheses and running experiments to understand their real impact on our traffic
  • Given we are an AI company, winning in AI search is not optional — this is one of the most critical outcomes tied to this role
  • Build and run a content operation that compounds
  • Own the editorial strategy: what we write, for whom, why, and how it maps to pipeline — not just traffic
  • Lead content production across formats: long-form SEO articles, video scripts, social-native content, community posts, and multimedia
  • Build a content engine that uses AI tools to dramatically accelerate output and quality — not to replace craft, but to amplify it
  • Ensure every piece of content earns its place through a clear connection to organic reach, audience growth, or bottom-of-funnel intent
  • Win on YouTube, video, and social platforms
  • Develop Botpress's video strategy — YouTube in particular — as a long-term organic acquisition and authority-building channel
  • Oversee LinkedIn and Reddit as channels for earned reach, community presence, and thought leadership in the AI space
  • Identify emerging platforms worth testing and have the discipline to kill experiments that aren't working
  • Build an AI-augmented, high-output team
  • Lead a team of content marketers, editors, video creators, and a social marketer — setting a high bar for quality, velocity, and impact
  • Be a player-coach: you set the strategy and you can roll up your sleeves and write, edit, brief, or build when the moment calls for it
  • Embed AI tools into every workflow — research, drafting, optimization, repurposing, publishing — to multiply what the team can produce
  • Coach and develop team members, create clear ownership, and build a culture of learning and experimentation
  • Bring operational rigor and measurement discipline
  • Define the metrics that matter: organic sessions, share of voice, LLM citation rate, content-attributed pipeline, keyword rankings — and own them
  • Build dashboards and reporting that give clear visibility into what's working, what's not, and what we're betting on next
  • Run a structured experimentation cadence: hypothesize, test, measure, and scale — applied to organic the same way a growth team applies it to product
  • Provide leadership with honest, clear, and regular visibility into the organic roadmap and results
