About The Position

The Head of Logistics leads and optimizes logistics operations across Silvi Materials’ ready-mix organization to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of products and services. The role provides strategic leadership for dispatch, fleet operations, transportation planning, customer service coordination, and logistics process improvement. It works cross-functionally with operations, sales, quality control, plant management, and executive leadership to maximize customer satisfaction, improve operational performance, reduce costs, and support EBITDA growth initiatives. The position is based at the main office in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. No smoking is permitted on or within company property, including inside trucks, buildings, or anywhere on the premises.

Requirements

7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or operations management.
Experience leading multi-site operations and cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of fleet management, dispatching operations, DOT regulations, and transportation best practices.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into operational improvements.
Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including lifting 20 pounds regularly on occasion, using one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects, standing for long periods, and kneeling, stooping, crouching, bending, stretching, twisting, or crawling.
Smoking is not permitted on or within company property.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, aggregates, or related industries.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee logistics operations, including dispatching, fleet utilization, transportation planning, scheduling, and delivery execution across multiple plants and markets.
Develop and execute logistics strategies to increase operational efficiency, improve asset utilization, and reduce transportation costs.
Drive initiatives that support EBITDA growth through improved productivity, route optimization, fleet management, and process enhancements.
Partner with sales, quality control, operations, and plant leadership to meet customer expectations and service commitments.
Establish and monitor KPIs related to delivery performance, fleet utilization, hauling costs, on-time delivery, driver productivity, customer satisfaction, and safety.
Analyze operational data and trends to identify cost-reduction and process-improvement opportunities.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices across logistics functions.
Lead, coach, and develop dispatch, customer service, and logistics personnel, fostering accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to maximize fleet availability and reduce downtime.
Support technology implementation and continuous improvement involving dispatch systems, fleet tracking, reporting tools, and operational software.
Build and maintain customer relationships, understand operational needs, resolve challenges, improve service performance, and create long-term value.
