About The Position

The Head of Logistics leads and optimizes logistics operations across Silvi Materials’ ready-mix organization to support the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of products and services. The role provides strategic leadership for dispatch, fleet operations, transportation planning, customer service coordination, and logistics process improvement. It works cross-functionally with operations, sales, quality control, plant management, and executive leadership to improve customer satisfaction and operational performance, reduce costs, and support EBITDA growth initiatives. The position is based at the Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania main office. The role also requires compliance with company policies and applicable DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and safety regulations. Smoking is prohibited on or within company property.

Requirements

7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or operations management.
Demonstrated experience leading multi-site operations and cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of fleet management, dispatching operations, DOT regulations, and transportation best practices.
Ability to analyze data and translate insights into operational improvements.
Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to lift 20 pounds occasionally; use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects; stand for long periods; kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, or crawl; hear and distinguish sounds; see nearby details; and distinguish colors, shades, and brightness.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, aggregates, or related industries.

Responsibilities

Lead logistics operations across multiple plants and markets, including dispatching, fleet utilization, transportation planning, scheduling, and delivery execution.
Develop and execute strategies to improve operational efficiency and asset utilization and reduce transportation costs.
Drive productivity, route optimization, fleet management, and process-enhancement initiatives that contribute to EBITDA growth.
Partner with sales, quality control, operations, and plant leadership to meet customer expectations and service commitments.
Establish and monitor KPIs for delivery performance, fleet utilization, hauling costs, on-time delivery, driver productivity, customer satisfaction, and safety.
Analyze operational data and trends to identify cost-reduction and process-improvement opportunities.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices across logistics functions.
Lead, coach, and develop dispatch, customer service, and logistics personnel, promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to maximize fleet availability and reduce downtime.
Support technology implementation and continuous improvement involving dispatch systems, fleet tracking, reporting tools, and operational software.
Build customer relationships by understanding operational needs, resolving challenges, improving service performance, and creating long-term value for customers and the organization.
