About The Position

The Head of Information Security is FIDx’s senior security leader, responsible for defining and executing the company’s information security, data privacy, and cyber-risk strategy as the company grows. The role protects the platform, data, and reputation, including sensitive financial and personal data shared across integrations with carriers, advisors, and partners. It reports to the Chief Technology Officer and engages regularly with the CEO, executive team, and Board on risk and security posture. The position spans security governance, risk and compliance, security architecture, security operations, and incident response. It directs day-to-day security operations and implementation of security policies while balancing protection with the speed and agility of a growing fintech. Initially, this is a hands-on role operating the security function as a team of one; as the company scales, the role will build, hire, and lead a dedicated security team. The role builds and executes the security roadmap; embeds security across the software development lifecycle and product delivery; establishes security architecture and controls; operates risk, compliance, audit, vendor-risk, privacy, continuity, and incident-response programs; and reports on security posture to leadership. The position also promotes a security-conscious culture and serves as a trusted advisor across the company. The job operates in an office and professional environment, routinely using standard office equipment. Occasional field visits to vendors and partners are required. Travel is required up to 20% based on operational and business needs. This is a full-time, exempt position, primarily Monday through Friday, with schedule needs that may include weekends, nights, and early mornings, particularly for on-call security incident response.
