Head of GTM, Research Services

MazeMadison, MS
$220,000 - $260,000Remote

About The Position

Maze is launching a Market Research service that blends the scale and speed of our platform with expert-led research services, creating an AI-native alternative to traditional market research agencies. As Head of GTM, Research Services, you'll be the founding commercial leader for this new line of business. This is a high-profile role that will work closely with Senior Leaders at Maze. Reporting to the COO and partnering closely with our Head of Market Research, the expert practitioner delivering the service, you'll own go-to-market strategy end to end. Key responsibilities include partnering with Product, Sales and Marketing to design, build and run our GTM motion, engaging new buyers and existing customers to initiate opportunities, managing deals through to close, and working with Marketing to build Maze's voice and presence in the market research industry. This is a rare opportunity to build a new business at an inflection point, helping define how AI reshapes the future of market research. You'll thrive here if you're a builder with deep market research roots—someone who has carried a number, knows the industry and its buyers personally, and believes AI is rewriting how research gets done.

Requirements

  • Significant experience growing market research services, insights consulting, or research technology businesses, including ownership of commercial outcomes.
  • A very strong network of market research buyers and practitioners you can activate from day one.
  • Deep market research domain expertise: qual and quant methodologies, study design, and how insights organizations buy and operate.
  • Ideally, some management and entrepreneurial experience—you've built a practice, launched an offering, or started something of your own.
  • AI-pilled: You understand how AI can improve every step of the research process, and you already use it daily to do more with less.
  • Builder: You thrive in zero-to-one environments—comfortable with ambiguity, quick to create structure, and energized by owning outcomes.
  • Consultative seller: You sell expertise, not just software—confident scoping complex research engagements and navigating enterprise buying processes.
  • Category evangelist: You have a point of view on where research is heading and can make buyers, analysts, and practitioners want to be part of it.
  • Cross-functional operator: You work fluidly with sales, marketing, research, and product teams, and know how to get things done without formal authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience launching a new service or product line inside a scaling company.
  • Published thought leadership or public speaking on AI in market research.
  • Experience selling both platform (SaaS) and services (agency) motions.

Responsibilities

  • Define and co-own the go-to-market strategy for Maze's Market Research service; positioning, packaging, pricing, and target segments.
  • Partner with the Head of Market Research to shape the offering around what insights buyers actually need and what our AI-native approach makes possible.
  • Establish the metrics, forecasts, and operating cadence for a new line of business, and iterate quickly on what the market tells you.
  • Coordinate with our existing sales team to generate qualified pipeline
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to deliver enablement, playbooks, joint account planning, and outbound plays.
  • Activate your own market research network to open doors with insights leaders and research buyers.
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle: scoping, proposals, pricing, negotiation, and close - bringing in the Head of Market Research as the practitioner voice.
  • Partner with Marketing to build Maze's voice and presence in the market research category—content, events, communities, and thought leadership.
  • Represent Maze at industry events and in the broader conversation about how AI is changing research.
  • Turn early customer wins into stories, references, and repeatable demand.
  • Act as the connective tissue between Sales, Marketing, Research, and Product, surfacing what the market needs and feeding it back into the service and platform roadmap.
  • Bring AI into your own daily workflow to do more with less—and model that for the team around you.
  • As the service scales, help shape the team and playbook that will grow it.
