About The Position

HeySunday is looking for a Head of Growth to own the company's growth strategy and execution. This role involves setting strategy, managing channels, running experiments, and making data-driven decisions to drive growth. The position requires a hands-on approach, with approximately 80% of the time dedicated to HeySunday and the remaining 20% focused on growth initiatives for other companies within the Mechanism Ventures portfolio. This dual focus offers exposure to diverse business models and growth challenges, with lessons learned being applied back to HeySunday.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in performance marketing.
  • Deep, current hands-on experience running Google Ads and Meta Ads at material scale.
  • Track record of profitable scale in DTC or e-commerce.
  • Hands-on experience with SKU testing, landing page optimization, and CRO.
  • Technical fluency, including experience with tools like Claude Cowork, GA4, building living dashboards, or shipping scripts for automation.
  • First-principles thinking and a bias for action, with the ability to ship in hours and days, not weeks.
  • Strong written communication skills and an instinct for tight, evidence-based reporting.
  • Comfort leveraging AI, automation, and modern growth tooling.
  • Experience connecting campaign performance back to unit economics, contribution margin, and profitability.
  • Belief that the best growth leaders are operators, not just managers of operators.
  • Ability to think in systems, not just campaigns.
  • Deep care for unit economics and profitability.
  • Desire for exposure to a portfolio of companies without being spread thin.
  • Comfort making clear calls with imperfect information.

Responsibilities

  • Owning HeySunday's full growth engine, including strategy, prioritization, and outcomes.
  • Managing paid acquisition on Google Ads and Meta Ads at scale.
  • Overseeing Connected TV and Broadcast Ads.
  • Conducting SKU testing.
  • Implementing CRO across landing pages and funnels.
  • Developing and maintaining the growth model that defines assumptions, targets, and constraints.
  • Achieving profitable revenue measured in ROAS, CAC payback, and contribution margin.
  • Owning paid acquisition end-to-end at HeySunday, including strategy, channel mix, budget allocation, and daily operations within Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager.
  • Designing, running, and analyzing a high-cadence SKU testing program.
  • Building and owning HeySunday’s growth model and reporting layer.
  • Directing Mechanism’s engineering, design, and creative teams to optimize landing pages, ad creative, and funnel changes.
  • Utilizing AI and automation to reduce cycle time through auto-pausing rules, LLM-generated creative variants, attribution scripts, and automated reporting.
  • Spending approximately 20% of time on time-boxed growth engagements with other Mechanism portfolio companies.
  • Codifying successful strategies into reusable playbooks, scripts, and automations for the portfolio.
  • Providing clear, written updates on results, learnings, and blockers.
  • Leading growth for HeySunday, staying closely involved in the operational work.
