About The Position

Sanity.io is seeking a Head of FP&A & Strategic Finance to translate complex business dynamics into action and shape resource allocation, performance measurement, and long-term strategy. The role will build a high-impact, scalable FP&A function using automation and modern tooling, with a focus on financial systems that enable decision-making rather than simply reporting. The position owns annual operating plans and rolling forecasts, maintains the company’s financial model, turns monthly actuals into actionable insights, develops scenario models, and translates business strategy into financial frameworks. It partners with GTM, Product, and G&A leaders on resource decisions, works with Revenue Operations to align ARR, bookings, and sales productivity metrics, and advocates for data-grounded decisions. The role also builds reliable, scalable FP&A systems and processes, drives adoption of modern FP&A tooling, establishes integrations across financial systems such as ERP, CRM, and the data warehouse, and creates self-service reporting for business leaders. The successful candidate brings substantial finance experience, including senior or leadership experience at a high-growth company, a strong grasp of SaaS metrics, decision-oriented financial modeling skills, clear communication, integrity, humility, and a bias for action.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, or strategic finance.
  • At least 3 years in a senior or leadership role at a high-growth company.
  • Deep command of SaaS metrics and how they interact.
  • Track record of building financial models used to make decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain financial complexity clearly to non-finance audiences.
  • High integrity and low ego; able to communicate candidly about what the numbers show.
  • Bias for action, including making decisions with imperfect information and course-correcting rather than waiting for perfect data.
  • Ability to manage both strategic-level discussions and detailed work such as investigating discrepancies in a revenue bridge.

Responsibilities

  • Own annual operating plan and rolling forecast processes end to end.
  • Build and maintain the financial model that gives leadership a clear view of the business.
  • Turn monthly actuals into actionable insight, not only variance explanations.
  • Develop scenario models to help evaluate strategic decisions.
  • Translate business strategy into financial frameworks, including headcount, capacity, and unit economics.
  • Partner with GTM, Product, and G&A leaders to help them understand their numbers and make resource decisions.
  • Partner with Revenue Operations to align ARR reporting, booking metrics, and sales productivity metrics into a single source of truth.
  • Challenge plans that do not add up and advocate for data-grounded decisions.
  • Build reliable, scalable FP&A systems and processes that do not depend on heroics each close cycle.
  • Drive adoption of modern FP&A tooling and establish clean integrations among financial systems, including ERP, CRM, and the data warehouse.
  • Create self-service reporting that gives business leaders direct access to needed numbers.
