About The Position

Flourish is solving the problem of adolescents with serious mental illness not getting the care they need. This role is for a Head of Finance who will take the existing finance function and elevate it rapidly, while also helping to drive better decision-making across the company. The Head of Finance will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with the leadership team to implement rigor in planning, spending, and growth strategies. This position requires the ability to transform raw data into clear insights and actionable decisions. A key responsibility will be to bring operational and strategic excellence to billing operations, ensuring timely collections, effective payer relations, identifying revenue cycle improvements, and providing clear reporting to the C-suite.

Requirements

  • Served in a senior finance or strategy leadership role at a startup or high-growth environment.
  • 10+ years of experience in finance, strategy, investment banking, private equity, or operating roles.
  • Experience building financial models and operating financial systems from the ground up.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, especially with MSO/PC corporate structure.
  • Experience with revenue operations (healthcare experience is a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and at a detailed execution level.
  • Experience managing or partnering with external finance resources (e.g., fractional CFO, auditors, firms).
  • Experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, Carta and Excel.

  • Prior people management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the financial voice in leadership discussions, challenging decisions, pressure-testing plans, and identifying risks and tradeoffs.
  • Own and refine planning and forecasting models to guide hiring, investment, and growth strategies, including running scenarios for future planning.
  • Translate financial metrics into clear recommendations and actionable decisions.
  • Enhance the existing finance function across FP&A, accounting, and reporting to provide clear visibility into burn rate, runway, and unit economics.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of billing operations, collections, and payer operations, driving both operational efficiency and strategic improvements in revenue collection.
  • Partner with Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to analyze growth efficiency, state expansion tradeoffs, and strategies for scaling revenue while maintaining patient care quality.
  • Manage the tax process for the MSO/PC corporate structure, working with external partners to ensure compliance and optimize for scalability.
  • Instill discipline in operational processes, balancing speed with grounded decision-making.
