About The Position

The Head of Finance and Accounting will oversee the full accounting function and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for the organization. Lead and manage the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll-related accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close. Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP. Manage and develop an accounting team, including direct oversight of AP, AR, staff/senior accountants, and accounting leadership. Prepare and review, financial statements, variance analyses, and key financial metrics. Partner closely with executive leadership, operations, project management, and global finance teams to support strategic decision-making. Oversee project accounting, revenue recognition, collections, and financial processes. Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and workflow efficiencies. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Lead consolidations, audit preparation, tax support, compliance reporting, and coordination with external advisors. Identify process improvement opportunities and implement scalable accounting practices to support company growth. Ensure strong financial discipline across departments and provide guidance on accounting best practices. Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA strongly preferred; CPA required if needed for client/company standards.
  • 10 plus years of progressive accounting experience required.
  • Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience required.
  • Experience managing an accounting team required.
  • Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, AP, AR, general ledger, internal controls, and audit support.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, revenue recognition, job costing, and cost controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP/accounting system experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
